PictureVeronica Nugent: Founder and Instructor
Veronica Nugent has been teaching ballroom dance since 1992. She and her husband Lee Nugent opened Simply Ballroom Dance Studio in 2007. She attended the Dance for PD training program in Brooklyn at the Mark Morris Dance Center in 2010. Shortly afterwards, Veronica's father passed away from complications of Parkinson's disease. She founded the Richmond Parkinson's Dance Project in his memory.

PictureDiane Bates: Instructor
Diane Bates is a retired middle school math teacher with Chesterfield County. She began taking dance lessons for fun after she retired. She completed her ballroom instructor training at Simply Ballroom in 2012. She began volunteering with the Richmond Parkinson's Dance Project and later attended the Dance for PD training and teaching with the Richmond Parkinson's Dance Project.

PicturePatty Mochary: Instructor
Patty began her dance training in her hometown of Michigan City, Indiana.
After attending Point Park College, she joined Pittsburgh Ballet Theater, where she performed with the company for 8 years.
Some highlights of her career include working with many ballet luminaries such as Frederic Franklin, Ruth Page, Leonide Massine, Edward Villella, and Natalia Makarova.
Patty has been teaching ballet throughout the Richmond area for 20+ years. Under the sponsorship of the Richmond Dance for PD program at Simply Ballroom, she has trained in the Mark Morris based program, Dance for PD, that offers internationally-acclaimed dance classes for people with Parkinson's disease. 
Patty wishes to pass on her passion for dance to all generations.
