History

The Richmond Parkinson's Dance Project was founded in 2011 as a way to help people in the community with PD. After noticing people in our own lives struggling with PD, and how they improved with music, we wanted to offer a completely free dance class for people with PD. In 2015, the RPDP was formed as a 501c3, allowing us to operate as a tax-exempt non-profit organization.

In October 2016, RPDP was awarded the United Health Care grant, which allowed us to build a wheelchair access ramp to Simply Ballroom!
